Melo announced for NBA
Hopefully the down trodden Knicks can get him at #3, but of course there is prob some french center that they want to draft or they'll trade his rights for some hobbled veteran who can't play.

Karl is bitching about Martin's foul
but what about Kukoc's walk you dumb bastard?

The Yankees have played 15,484 regular-season games, going 8,794-6,690 and most of those 6690 were in the 80's.

Playoffs
NBA: I feel a little bad for KG. Now they are going to get on his case again for not making it out of the first round. They're playing the Lakers! I definitely don't think the Lakers are a lock. If forced to choose I say its Sactown's year. That team is crazy deep. No one is as ruthless as the Lakers though. Spurs have a shot if they make it past the Suns. Mavs have no shot. The East? Who cares? I don't think Detroit has the offense to make it far. I don't care how good their defense is. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if McGrady single-handedly knocks them out in the first round. NJ is the team to beat in the East. Pacers could take the East if the make it past the Celts which will be tough. Philly has been playing well and if Iverson continues to roll then Philly could reclaim the East title. I say it comes down btwn NJ and Philly in an East Coast throwdown. NJ takes it unless Iverson scorches them which is possible. Sac over NJ in a 7 game run-and-gun finals.

NHL. The Devils sometimes have trouble with teams like the Lightning but I think they'll survive. The Devils defense has just been sick. Against Boston, once the devils got the lead they just shut them down. Boston was often having trouble getting the puck out of their own end of the ice. Best defense in Hockey plus one of the best goalies ever equals another Eastern Conference championship. The Senators will have a tough time against the survivor of the Flyers/Leafs. If the Flyers survive they could possible take the East but with Dejardin out with a broken foot it will be tough. The Leafs/Flyers game 7 tonight should be a classic. Three multi-overtime games in a series? Could tonight be a fourth? Both teams have just gone all out this series. In the West, if Giguire on the Ducks keeps playing like a god then no one will score on the Ducks and they'll take it. I think the Stars will find some chinks in his armor. There has to be some right? I think the Stars are clearly the class of the West especially now that the Wings are out of the way. If they can find a way to score on "Gigi" and make it past the Ducks then they'll win the West. They play great together, have a lot of weapons, experience, depth, and a great goalie. Dallas versus New Jersey in the finals with the Devils shut down defense leading them to another Stanley Cup win.

Judge orders Polynice to get help for temper
SALT LAKE CITY -- Former NBA player and Jazz center Olden Polynice was fined $450 and ordered to get anger management therapy for yelling obscenities at a prosecutor. Polynice, 38, pleaded guilty Friday to disturbing the peace for the hallway confrontation with Holladay city attorney Lohra Miller when she was prosecuting him for a golf-course assault. Polynice was back in court Friday, a day after he finished two days in jail for assaulting the golfer. That conviction violated terms of a plea bargain Polynice made for a previous conviction of impersonating a police officer, his lawyer Greg Skordas said Saturday. "You may not chase a public official down the hallway yelling obscenities. It makes the community uncomfortable,'' Ward said. Swenson testified that he tried to apologize to Polynice about an errant tee shot by a member of his foursome, but the 7-foot, 250-pound Polynice pushed him, punched him in the kidney and spit in his eye.
