Homework Assignment 3: Misleading Hyperlinks

Replace random hyperlinks with hidden referrals to https://twistedfans.com. This assignment is especially intended specifically for hackers and techies overbored with having to maintain someone else’s pathetically uninteresting web site.  Here’s what you do:

  1. Identify an often overlooked Link on any page of your employer's website. Good examples include: 
    a.     Back to Top
     b. Recommend this Page to a Friend
     c. Disclaimer
     d. Links
  2. Replace hyperlink properties with https://twistedfans.com
  3. Enjoy! This unexpected transport will disrupt the normal flow of Internet traffic while ultimately providing for a good laugh when the tech support guy at your office starts getting flooded with emails from users who are confused by the disruption. 
  4. Forward >> Send this assignment to other Space Monkeys bored with their jobs, wives, cars, unemployed or just in need of something exciting to do.
  5. Finally, while engaging in steps 1-4 Repeat aloud to yourself  >>  "I am the all singing, all dancing crap of this world!"

  1. Print Out >> promo flyer (MAKE SURE the #%*& yahoo! ad is not visible b4 printing) (also feel free to use work supplies, such as the copier (color preferably), printer etc.)
  2. Post Up >> again be sure to use work supplies such as tape, tacks, binder clips, whatever, etc.
  3. Hand Out >> Circulate, however, this assignment does not require you to pour liquid nitrogen into your boss's computer monitor so that it explodes when s/he turns it on. **Butch, please adhere to this instruction. We don't want a repeat of last time.

  1. Open internet explorer
  2. Click Tools , Internet Options from the Toolbar
  3. Paste https://twistedfans.com into the HomePage address area
  4. Click Ok
  5. Click Home
  6. Hide the Tools Toolbar
  1. Open netscape navigator
  2. Click Edit , Preferences from the Toolbar
  3. Paste https://twistedfans.com into the HomePage location area
  4. Click Ok
  5. Click Home
  6. Hide the Edit Toolbar
